is one of the most rewarding and happiest events that can take place in a person's life. But, there are a lot of new issues you will be facing with the added addition, one of those issues will restructuring your household budget to accommodate your baby. While many people can't wait until their baby arrives, many more don't always realize the financial implications involved with a new baby.

As adults when finances aren't always what they should be, we make accommodations for those lapses by simply doing without. When you bring a new baby home there are things that your baby needs that you simply cannot do without, items such as diapers, wipes and formula. Another consideration is that your baby requires specialized items such as shampoos, soaps and laundry detergents because of their sensitivities. The question now becomes; "how do I accommodate these financial changes?" Here are a few tips in that area that can help you in the financial area.

Deciding what is and what is not a necessity for your child is top priority. Although we all want the best for our children, let's face it, we tend to spoil our children and sometimes we consider things that are actually luxuries as necessities. The key is prioritizing what is truly necessary and what is not and spending accordingly.

Never turn down an offer of baby clothing or items. Many parents over buy or have more than they can ever use thanks to family and friends, this means you may be receiving items never used, which can save you a lot of money.

Make sure that you have a good safe car seat to bring baby home. Never put rear facing car seats in the front seat. It is a good idea for someone to drive the mommy home, and mommy and baby ride in the backseat together.

    The little suction bulb they give you at the hospital comes in handy, for cleaning up the mucus left from the birthing, keep it close by for those incidents that you may need to use when least expected. When lying the baby down for nap or bedtime, make sure the newborn is lying on his or her back. This is recommended to help prevent SIDS. (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome). When or before the baby is 12 weeks old,take the bumper pads out of the crib and keep the crib clear of pillows, stuffed animals, and other things that could cause suffocation.

    The new baby will need to be fed, bathed, diaper changed, and care for the umbilical cord. Sponge the baby with luke warm water, until the cord comes off. Alcohol dabbed on with a cotton ball can help this occur, sometimes sooner than the expected. When the cord falls off give baths in baby tub, make sure to test the water temp. Feed the baby every 3 to 4 hrs up to 4 oz of formula or if breast feeding every two hours, 20 minutes on each breast. Change the little ones diaper when it is wet or poopy.
